Privacy policy
Who this covers
This policy applies to www.metzgerat.com, the public website of Metzger Accounting & Tax. Information you provide to us as a client during an engagement is governed by your engagement letter and by the confidentiality obligations that apply to a licensed CPA, which are broader than this policy.
What we collect
This website does not require you to create an account and does not ask you to enter sensitive information. We collect only what you choose to send us:
- Contact details you provide, such as your name, email address and phone number
- Whatever you write in a message to us, including a description of what you need help with
- Standard server request information, such as IP address and browser type, logged by our hosting provider for security and reliability
Please do not send tax documents by email or through this website. Do not include a Social Security number, a taxpayer identification number, a bank account number or a full copy of a return in an email or a web form. Clients receive a secure portal and that is where documents belong.
How we use it
To respond to you, to schedule and hold a consultation, to provide the services you engage us for, and to meet our own legal and professional record-keeping obligations. That is the entire list.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your information.
- We do not rent, trade or share it for anyone else's marketing.
As a CPA, Edith Metzger is also subject to professional confidentiality rules and to federal restrictions on the disclosure and use of tax return information. Client tax return information is not disclosed to third parties without your consent, except where the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
This website sets no advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. Web fonts are loaded from a third-party font service, which receives a request from your browser in order to serve them.
Service providers
We use a small number of third-party services to run the practice. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Contact form. Messages sent through the contact form are delivered by a third-party form handling service and then to our email.
Security
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect information in our possession, including secure transmission of client documents through a portal rather than by email. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
How long we keep things
Client records are retained for the periods required by professional standards, tax law and our own records retention practice, which is generally at least seven years. General inquiries that do not become engagements are kept only as long as they are useful and then deleted.
Your choices
You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete information we are not required to retain. Email info@metzgerat.com or call 602-730-2939 and we will respond.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version is posted here with a new date at the top of the page.
Terms of use
No advice, and no relationship formed here
Everything on this website is general information. It is not tax, accounting or legal advice for your situation and should not be relied on as a substitute for a conversation about your actual facts. Tax law changes, and pages here may not reflect the most recent developments.
Reading this site, sending a message or booking a consultation does not create a professional relationship. That begins only when we both sign an engagement letter describing the specific work.
Licensing
Edith Metzger, CPA is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Arizona. This practice provides tax, bookkeeping and payroll services and does not perform audits, reviews or compilations. Services are offered only in jurisdictions where they may lawfully be provided.
No guarantee of outcome
Nothing here is a promise of a particular refund, tax result, penalty reduction or outcome with any taxing authority. Results depend on your facts and on decisions made by others.
Links to other sites
This site links to third-party services for scheduling, payment and document exchange. Those sites are operated by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Accuracy and availability
We work to keep this site accurate and available, but it is provided as-is. We may change or remove content at any time, and we are not liable for damages arising from use of the site or reliance on information published on it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
